Abstract
Organoids offer a powerful platform for investigating human physiology and disease, yet their utility depends on how faithfully they recapitulate the complexity of native tissues. I will present how developmental principles guide the generation of intestinal organoids into complex multicellular structures and how these processes can be harnessed to generate functional tissue.
Biography
Dr. Mahe is a tenured research scientist at INSERM specializing in intestinal physiology, stem cell-derived organoids, and tissue engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Cellular Physiology from the University of Nantes and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. His research develops complex organoid-based in vitro models to investigate gastrointestinal diseases and advance therapeutic strategies. He is Director of PEPR MED-OOC and Scientific Director of the Infrastructure for Organoids in Nantes (ION).
